"I think my district included five ranges in Allamakee and Winneshiek Counties. My work was partly in that portion of those counties which a writer in a recent number of the 'Midland Monthly' calls the 'Switzerland of Iowa.' Here among swiftly running streams, deep canons, mountainous hills and rocky precipices, I worked for two months and really here I had the most pleasant and enjoyable time of all my different trips.
